Palazzo FARNESE - Caprarola
An enchanted town, embraced by the lush Roman countryside, hides one of the most beautiful Italian aristocratic palaces of the Renaissance.
One hour drive from the center of Rome, entering the small town of Caprarola, guests will discover an impressive building erected for the “Great Cardinal Farnese” and considered the masterpiece of Architect Jacopo Barozzi da Vignola.
Being a tangible sign of power, the Palazzo is at the same time a fortress, a private residence and a villa. With its characteristic pentagonal plan and central round courtyard, it houses a splendid helicoidal staircase and a cycle of frescoes that are among the most representative of Mannerism.
The experience will be private and hosted by an art historian guide. A stop in one of the typical local restaurants and a walk along the nearby Lago di San Vito are part of the journey.
